nz Born, Berlin based, painting emotions through character based pop surrealism. Flowing liquids and static poses, capturing moments in innerworldy stories. Spray paint is the go to but will use what's at my fingertips.
I created my art as way to know myself and the world better. I look at the world through different aspects of my being and paint and draw based of my (often subconscious) responses to situations and occurrences in my life and the world around me. The world outside can often be too much and so I have turned my eyes inwards as it is a realm all unto me. I like to look at the granular but realise it in broader strokes.
EGORRR & CO.
My characters personify different aspects of myself. I use them to ekamine myself and the world around me, to process feelings and explore philosophical ideas. This is a peek inside me. And inside me Egorrr (my Ego) leads a merry band of oddballs, who inhabit the world of Crushington.
Crushington is desert world of constant horizons, monotone and stark. Inspired by the likes of Moebius and NZ artists like Colin McCahon. Growing up surrounded by ocean; the desert is the opposite but manages to mantain the sense of open expanse and the mystery of what is over the horizon?
